Land Conservancy of New Jersey Scholarships
Scholarship Sponsored by Land Conservancy of New Jersey
Are you a college junior, senior, or graduate student studying environmental science or a related environmental discipline — or do you know someone who is? The Land Conservancy of New Jersey awards scholarships to students working toward degrees in environmental science, natural resource management, conservation, park administration, and similar fields.
Program background
The Land Conservancy of New Jersey runs the largest environmental scholarship program in the state. The effort began in 1983 with the Russell W. Myers Scholarship and expanded in 2005 with the addition of the Rogers Family Scholarship. Since then, TLCNJ has continued to invest in the next generation of conservation professionals. In 2025 the Conservancy granted seven scholarships, thanks to the support of donors. For 2026, the program will award ten scholarships of $10,000 each — more awards than any previous year.
Eligibility and administration
Applicants must be New Jersey residents and enrolled full time. Candidates should have completed at least 45 undergraduate credit hours at an accredited college or university (attendance at a New Jersey institution is not required). Applicants need an academic average equivalent to a 3.3 GPA or higher. The scholarship process is overseen by the Land Conservancy’s Board of Trustees, and award payments are sent directly to the recipient’s college or university.
