Introduction
The Maine Art Education Association (MAEA) is a statewide professional organization committed to advancing high-quality visual arts education for both teachers and students throughout Maine. MAEA supports its membership with resources, professional learning opportunities, advocacy for arts education, and community events. Among its student-focused initiatives is an Annual High School Scholarship designed to encourage graduating seniors who plan to continue their studies in fine art or design.

Eligibility
To be considered for the MAEA Annual High School Scholarship, applicants must:
- Be a high school senior enrolled at a Maine high school.
- Be currently enrolled in a visual arts course.
- Be nominated by a teacher who is an active MAEA member.
- Intend to pursue a post-secondary degree in fine arts or design.

Award
- Scholarship amounts range from $500 to $1,500.
- Payment will be made directly to the recipient after the student provides documentation showing successful completion of their first semester of post-secondary study.
- If the required documentation is not submitted within one year of graduating from a Maine high school, the scholarship will be forfeited.
- Typically one scholarship is awarded each year; if funding permits, a second award may be granted.
