Appleton Rotary Foundation Scholarship

Introduction
The Appleton Rotary Foundation Scholarship supports graduating high school seniors from the Appleton area who plan to enroll full time in a bachelor’s program. Awards are based on academic standing, demonstrated community service, and financial need (when applicable). Members of the Rotary Club of Appleton and their immediate family members are ineligible.
Eligibility (considered in awarding)
- Graduating seniors from an Appleton public or private high school, including students in home-school programs accredited by the Appleton Area School District.
- Intention to pursue a bachelor’s degree at an accredited college or university as a full-time student.
- Cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 through December 31.
- Documented commitment to community service: at least 80 hours of volunteer or community service completed during high school.
- Financial need will be a factor in selection.
- Rotary Club of Appleton members and their families are not eligible.
Award Amount
Up to three recipients will receive a $1,000 scholarship, each award renewable annually for up to four years (maximum total per recipient $4,000). Scholarships are applied toward tuition and are payable for the first semester of college.
Selection Process
Recipients are selected and recommended each spring by the Appleton Rotary Foundation Scholarship Selection Committee together with the Community Foundation Scholarship Selection Committee.
Accepting the Scholarship and Payment Steps
Recipients must submit the Scholarship Acceptance Form and the Scholarship Verification Form via the Scholarship Portal: https://www.grantinterface.com/Home/Logon?urlkey=cffvrscholar. The Verification Form will request supporting documentation (for example: class schedule or registration showing credits, proof of declared major, transcripts, etc.). Once the submitted Verification Form is approved, the scholarship check will be issued directly to the college or university the student will attend.
Communication and Account Responsibility
The Community Foundation primarily communicates with students by email. Recipients are responsible for keeping their Scholarship Portal account information current, including their email address.
Loss of Eligibility
The scholarship will be forfeited if a recipient fails to remain a full-time student at an accredited college or university or does not maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale each academic year.
