History and purpose The Indiana Golf Foundation was established in 1994 to protect and advance the sport of golf across Indiana. The Indiana Junior Golf Program, which began in 1987, later became part of the Foundation and continued to expand under its stewardship. In 1996 the Foundation launched a scholarship initiative to help financially support students who had been active participants in the Indiana Junior Golf Program. Scholarship overview The scholarship is intended for former participants of the Indiana Junior Golf Program and is awarded based on a combination of academic performance, personal character, and financial circumstances. Applicants are reviewed by the Foundation and selected according to the criteria below. Eligibility and selection criteria All applicants are evaluated on the following requirements: - Participation: Must have been involved in the Indiana Junior Golf Program for at least two years. - Academics: Must hold a GPA greater than 3.0 and must submit scores from either the ACT or SAT. - Character: Applicants should demonstrate the core traits valued in golf, including sportsmanship, integrity, and perseverance. - Financial need: Demonstrated financial need is taken into account; applicants showing need are given additional consideration. Applicants who meet these standards are considered for scholarship awards by the Foundation’s selection committee.
