Kansas Horse Council Foundation — Overview
The Kansas Horse Council Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization established in 2003. Its mission is to promote education and support the academic aspirations of people active in the equine community. Scholarship awards are financed by proceeds from the annual Silent Auction at Equifest of Kansas and by private donations received year-round. The Foundation’s affairs are overseen by a Board of Directors.

Eligibility requirements
Applicants must meet all of the following to be considered:
- Be a current Kansas Horse Council member in good standing.
- Demonstrate a history of participation in the horse industry (examples: Pony Club, FFA, Rodeo, 4-H, etc.).
- Provide proof of enrollment at an accredited U.S. university, college, or trade school.
- Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 and submit official transcript(s).
- Supply two letters of recommendation, with at least one letter addressing the applicant’s equine experience and involvement.
- Ensure all application materials are either postmarked or submitted (in person or electronically) by the deadline. Late submissions will not be accepted.
