Jane Loring Jones Scholarship
Scholarship Sponsored by American Baptist Churches of the Rocky Mountains
History
The Jane Loring Jones Scholarship Fund was established on Sept. 28, 1953 by the women of the Amoma Sunday School Class of Broadway Baptist Church in Denver, Colorado, together with her son, Norwood Loring Jones, and his family. Jane Loring Jones devoted 32 years to Broadway Baptist Church as a teacher and counselor. The scholarship continues her lifelong commitment to assisting consecrated Christian young women to pursue further education and to prepare for roles of Christian leadership in the home, church, and community.
In 1954 the American Baptist Women of Colorado (ABWM) adopted the Jane Loring Jones Scholarship Fund as a state project. The fund’s principal is preserved through conservative investments, and only the income generated is used each year to provide scholarships.
