Introduction
The Black Women in Sport Foundation (BWSF) is a nonprofit committed to expanding the participation of black women and girls across all facets of sport—athletics, coaching, and administration. Each year BWSF awards four (4) scholarships to matriculating female college students. Recipients must be enrolled at the time the award is received. This award cycle, BWSF will present four scholarships total: three (3) for full-time undergraduate students and one (1) for a full-time graduate student.

Scholarships Available
- Madeline Kountze Dugger-Kelly Scholarship
- Amount: $1,000
- Eligibility: African American woman enrolled full-time in an accredited graduate program. Applicant should have competed in a sport during her undergraduate studies and exemplify the outstanding qualities associated with Madeline Kountze Dugger-Kelly.

- Angela Murphy Scholarship
- Amount: $500
- Eligibility: Female high school senior who will be enrolled full-time in an accredited college program. Applicant must have participated in her high school athletic program and demonstrated involvement in community service.

- Bernice Anastasia Ximines Smith Scholarship for Undergraduate Students
- Amount: $1,000
- Eligibility: African American woman in her sophomore or junior year, enrolled in the Temple University School of Communications and Theater, and demonstrating the spirit and achievements exemplified by Mrs. Smith.

- Lewis Danforth, Jr. Scholarship
- Amount: $1,000
- Eligibility: Student enrolled full-time in an accredited undergraduate program who is from and currently resides in the Greater Philadelphia Area and who exhibits the qualities of a conscientious citizen.

Application Instructions and Selection Process
Application instructions are included with this letter. Prospective applicants should carefully review the selection criteria and submit a complete package containing all requested materials; incomplete submissions will not be considered. Students may apply for every scholarship for which they meet the qualifications, but each student may receive only one scholarship award. All applications will be reviewed and selected candidates will be invited for an interview as part of the final selection process.

Deadline
All application materials must be received by March 31 of each year.
