Alex Horton Scholarship

Introduction
The Tarrant County College Foundation awards scholarships and other financial aid to students at Tarrant County College to help offset educational expenses and support their academic and career objectives. The foundation administers a range of donor-funded awards—both merit- and need-oriented—to broaden access to higher education across the local community. Through fundraising and scholarship distribution, the foundation promotes student persistence and the completion of TCC degrees and certificates.
Eligibility
Applicants must meet all of the following conditions:
- Be currently enrolled at Tarrant County College or be planning to enroll.
- Plan to pursue an associate degree or a certificate of completion at TCC.
- Either hold a minimum TCC cumulative GPA of 2.5 or possess a high school diploma or its equivalent.
- Register for at least 6 credit hours during the term covered by the award.
- Have graduated from a Tarrant County, Texas high school within the immediate past two years.
- Note: This award is merit-based; demonstrating financial need is not a requirement.
Renewal Requirements
To qualify for a spring-semester renewal, recipients must achieve a semester GPA of at least 2.5 and successfully complete a minimum of 6 credit hours during the preceding fall term.
