Introduction
California’s long-term success relies on well-prepared students. PG&E provides scholarship funding to help students succeed in college and pursue innovation. While many awards focus on STEM, PG&E also supports students in other fields through various scholarship programs.
2025 award summary
In 2025 PG&E distributed nearly 150 scholarships. These included STEM-targeted awards as well as scholarships sponsored by Employee Resource Groups and the Engineering Network Group. Individual awards ranged from $1,000 to $10,000.

Important dates
- Opens: January 12, 2026
- Deadline: March 12, 2026
Who is eligible
Applicants must meet one of the following student-status criteria:
- High school senior or recent high school graduate
- Holder of a GED
- Current undergraduate college student
- Non-traditional student or veteran (returning to school or pursuing an undergraduate degree for the first time)
Residency/dependent requirement
- Live within PG&E’s service territory, or
- Be a dependent of someone who lives within PG&E’s service territory
Enrollment and degree requirements
- Intend to enroll as an undergraduate at a four-year college or university in California, or at a U.S. Historically Black College or University (HBCU)
- Be pursuing their first undergraduate degree
Eligible fields of study (STEM)
Applicants must be seeking a degree in one of these STEM areas:
- Engineering (examples include electrical, mechanical, industrial, environmental, construction, power and energy)
- Computer Science or Information Systems
- Environmental and Biological Sciences
- Mathematics, Statistics, or Physics
If you meet the above criteria, prepare your application for the January 12, 2026 opening and submit by March 12, 2026.
