HAFI Scholarship

Introduction
The High Aspirations Foundation, Inc. (HAFI), together with the Tau Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., is proud to continue its annual scholarship initiative to help offset the cost of college. The HAFI Scholarship Program awards $1,000 scholarships to African American male graduating high school seniors who have demonstrated strong academic performance and community leadership.
Eligibility
To be considered for a HAFI scholarship, applicants must meet all of the following requirements:
- Be an African American male and a current high school senior (public, private, charter, or parochial).
- Be enrolled in a Metro Atlanta high school. Applicants attending Atlanta Public Schools (APS) and Fulton County Schools (FCS) within the Tau Chapter service area will receive added consideration.
- Not be the child of a financial member of the Tau Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. (Children of Tau Chapter members should apply through the Chapter’s Legacy Program.)
- Have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.75 on a 4.0 non-weighted scale.
- Plan to enroll full-time at an accredited college, university, or vocational school for the 2026–2027 academic year.
Application requirements
All materials must be submitted together, signed by the applicant and a parent or guardian, and received by the deadline. Required items:
- Completed application (signed by applicant and parent/guardian).
- Official high school transcript.
- One letter of recommendation (from a teacher, mentor, community leader, etc.).
- A 500-word essay addressing the topic provided in the application packet.
Deadline
All application materials must be submitted by March 1, 2026 at 11:59 PM EST.
Award banquet attendance
If selected for a scholarship, recipients must attend the Scholarship Award Banquet, tentatively scheduled for Saturday, March 21, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Failure to attend the banquet will result in forfeiture of the scholarship.
