Iowa Midwest Dairy Scholarships

Introduction
Midwest Dairy supports building dairy advocates and preparing future leaders in the dairy industry by awarding scholarships to students who come from dairy farms or are pursuing dairy-related fields. Scholarship details, amounts and eligibility can differ by state and region. In addition to Midwest Dairy’s regional scholarships, Dairy Management Inc. administers checkoff-funded scholarships at the national level.
Eligibility
To qualify, applicants must meet all of the following:
- Be enrolled or accepted as a full-time student at an accredited college or university.
- As of January 1 of the current calendar year, have a connection to the Midwest Dairy checkoff through one of these options:
- The applicant, or the applicant’s parent(s), guardian(s), grandparent(s) or sibling, owns a dairy farm located in Iowa.
- The applicant is employed on a dairy farm in Iowa and has a recommendation from the farm producer/employer.
- Previous scholarship recipients are eligible to apply again in later years provided they still meet the program requirements.
Selection criteria
Applications are reviewed based on involvement and contributions to the dairy industry, demonstrated leadership, career objectives in dairy, and academic performance.
How to apply and timeline
1. Submit the online application by March 1, 2026.
2. Applicants selected as recipients will be notified by May 15, 2026. Those recipients must provide the following items by June 1, 2026:
- High-resolution photograph
- Newspaper information form
- Publicity consent form
- W-9 form
3. Scholarship awards will be paid directly to students by October 1, 2026.
